It rained for a lot of that morning. A couple of kids had a hard time with it (Jeffrey, bring your coat!), but it made it beautiful.

So when the ranger helped us decide this trip, she said it was about the same mileage as the other trip we had planned--18 miles. Our loop was the Death-Granite Canyon Loop, so when we finished and found this sign, it just confirmed what we had already thought by the end of the second day--it was much longer!

It was an awesome trip, and one of the highlights of our year!

And someday, we will take a backpack trip when I am not pregnant!
